Overview

Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals program is designed to provide participants with a solid foundation in the art of BJJ while emphasizing the practical aspects of self-defense. In this program, students will learn essential techniques and strategies that can be applied in real-world self-defense situations. From mastering escapes and control techniques to understanding effective submissions, our curriculum ensures that students are well-equipped to protect themselves and others should the need arise.

GB 1 Jiu Jitsu

Students experience results that go beyond gains in strength, flexibility, fitness or self-defense skills. By remaining truthful to the lessons learned in practice and applying them off the mats, Gracie Barra students experience an overall improvement on their focus, energy and general well-being. The GB 1 Program teaches these basic principles of effective fighting to individuals like you. Its structure condenses an immense diversity of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into core fundamental moves combined intelligently and safely to optimize your learning. During our Adults Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals Program, you will learn the basic techniques and principles of Jiu Jitsu, including:

  • Grappling: Learn how to control your opponent and apply various holds and locks to submit them.
  • Takedowns: You’ll learn how to take your opponent to the ground and gain a dominant position.
  • Escapes: Learn how to escape from inferior positions and defend against various attacks.
  • Self-defense: You’ll learn practical techniques to defend yourself in real-life situations.

GB 2 Jiu Jitsu

Organized like a team, fighting like a family…

While the GB 1 Program focuses on the building blocks and basic principles of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the GB 2 Program is built on high-level techniques and drills that start shaping the students game through the development of reflexes, speed, reaction time, as well as transitions between one technique and another.

 

GB 3 No Gi

When practicing No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, you’ll shed your uniform for stretchy athletic wear, such as shorts and a rash guard.

Without the lapel and collar of a kimono to grab hold of, No-Gi Jiu Jitsu is much faster and requires quick thinking. While it’s up for you to decide, many feel that No-Gi BJJ is better when it comes to preparing for real-life altercations.
